Duran Duran — Birmingham 2026
Duran Duran formed in Birmingham in 1978, and on 20 October they play the Utilita Arena in the city centre: a homecoming. Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor and Roger Taylor share the stage, from 1980s New Romantic hits to the new Nile Rodgers collaboration Free To Love, with the Margate five-piece Pigeon as special guests. Doors 6pm, show 7pm.
Duran Duran formed in Birmingham in 1978, so this is a homecoming.
Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor and Roger Taylor share the stage. A fan who has seen them twice since 2023 says the band sounds great, Simon’s vocals are stellar, and the crowd is there to have a great time.
From the bright synths of Girls on Film and Rio to the sweep of Ordinary World, and on to the new Nile Rodgers collaboration Free To Love.
More than forty years of songs joined up by one live band; a fan at the 2012 Hong Kong show could sing along to almost every one.
The Margate five-piece Pigeon open with songs from their debut album, OUTTANATIONAL.
Their boundary-free party grooves lead into Duran Duran’s arena synth-pop: two generations of dance floor in one night.
