Metallica · Life Burns Faster — Sphere Las Vegas residency
Life Burns Faster is Metallica’s residency at Sphere in Las Vegas, running from 1 October 2026 to 13 March 2027 over 24 nights; it is separate from the M72 stadium tour. The stage is at one end of the hall rather than M72’s centre stage, but the Snake Pit is still there, inside the stage. Each Thursday and Saturday form a No Repeat Weekend, with no song played on both nights. All 24 nights are sold out.
Inside Sphere, one continuous screen wraps around the audience. On opening night the whole screen became a slot machine, with the band in grainy 1980s-style pixels.
The local opening-night review put it this way: standing on the floor is like a Metallica show from the ’80s or ’90s, and the further back you sit, the more of the Sphere spectacle you see.
This is Metallica’s No Repeat Weekend: the Thursday and Saturday of each weekend have entirely different setlists.
The opening night on 1 October began with Battery, took in Creeping Death and Nothing Else Matters, and closed with Master of Puppets; go both nights and you hear two different sets.
The Life Burns Faster pop-up, with merchandise and a fan exhibition, is in the Summit Showroom at The Venetian; on selected Fridays between 2 October and 6 November the Black Box opens to the public at The Palazzo, with separate tickets.
On the second level of Fashion Show mall, a Red Cross × Metallica blood drive runs until 19 March 2027, with a limited-edition T-shirt for donors while supplies last.

Firsthand, Sphere opening night, 1 October 2026
My first show at Sphere. Videos can’t capture how overwhelming it is in person: the giant screen’s visuals plus first-class sound kept me awake all night… Master of Puppets, the theme song of this run, felt a little flat visually by comparison.

Metallica’s first Las Vegas show, and Sphere turned into one giant slot machine: it could not have suited the city better.
All 24 nights are sold out; avoid unknown resellers.
The stage is at one end, not M72’s centre stage.
The floor puts you close to the band but shows less of the screen; for the full dome, seats further back work better (per the local opening-night review).
Multi-city I Disappear tickets are not valid at Sphere.

Traced from this residency’s ticketing seat map (checked 3 October): the stage is at one end with the standing Snake Pit inside it and the floor in front; the seating rises through the 100, 200, 300 and 400 levels. The official map marks the overhang of the level above at both ends of the 100 level and between the 200 and 300 levels; the ticketing page notes the chart shows the venue’s general layout and may change.

No age limit, though guests under 18 are strongly advised to come with a parent or guardian; children two and over need their own ticket, and under-twos may sit on an adult’s lap without a seat. Mobile tickets only; add them to your phone wallet in advance. Video cameras, selfie sticks, tripods, audio recorders and cameras with telephoto or zoom lenses are not allowed; turn off the flash for photos and video.
