2026 edition: Lee Bae’s Brushstroke

Lee Bae paints a black brushstroke on paper and also makes it a large bronze sculpture.

A turn on a flat surface gains thickness, shadow and a far side in three dimensions; walking around the sculpture, you feel that single sweep of the brush far more than from a photograph of its front.

2026 edition: the weight of one “I love you”

In Melati Suryodarmo’s video I Love You (2007) the artist holds a heavy sheet of glass in a red room and says the words again and again.

Watch how she shifts her feet and takes the weight anew, and a familiar sentence slowly gathers weariness, fragility and persistence.

2026 edition: the first prize for emerging artists

In 2026 ART SG awarded its first FUTURES Prize, USD 10,000 for the most outstanding emerging artist in the FUTURES sector. The first winner was the Filipino-Canadian artist Marigold Santos, whose etchings were brought by Patel Brown of Toronto.

FUTURES shows new work made for the fair by rising artists, presented by galleries less than ten years old; in this corner you see names that have not yet made theirs.

MAKE IT YOUR EXPERIENCE

Does this fit what you are looking for?

This could be for you if you are…

  • People who love contemporary art and want to meet Southeast Asian galleries and new Asian work in one go

Before you decide

The 2027 exhibitor list is not yet published and the organisers say the programme will follow in late 2026 (checked 2 October); the works mentioned are 2026 examples.

The public days are 22–24 January: one answer in the ticketing notes says 22–26 January while the rest say 22–24, so check the date on your ticket.

The VIP preview on 21 January is not open to the general public; limited separate tickets for the opening night (6–9pm) exist, as does the Signature Pass that includes it.

The fair fills two floors of the convention centre (L1 and B2); the venue has lifts and accessible toilets, wheelchairs to rent and welcomes service dogs.

Tickets can be moved to another date within the same category; once the date has passed they cannot be exchanged or refunded.

Lee Bae, Melati Suryodarmo and Marigold Santos are 2026 examples; I Love You was shown as a 5 minute 49 second video, while the original performance lasted five hours.
