U.S. Open Golf Pebble Beach 2027
The 127th U.S. Open plays its four championship rounds at Pebble Beach Golf Links, California, from 17 to 20 June 2027, the seventh U.S. Open at Pebble Beach (after 1972, 1982, 1992, 2000, 2010 and 2019). Practice rounds run from the Monday, and the official weekly ticket covers Monday to Sunday. For now only weekly and multi-day packages are on sale, from USD 1,265 including fees for a weekly Gallery ticket; the field is set only after qualifying.
In 1972 Jack Nicklaus hit a 1-iron into the wind at the 17th that short-hopped the flagstick; in 1982 Tom Watson chipped in from the rough at the same hole to take the title.
This par 3 sits by the ocean, and when the wind shifts the same club flies a different distance. Stand here and you can see how long players hesitate before they swing.
The 1972 final round averaged 78.8, the highest since the Second World War; in 1992, with 40 mph winds, Tom Kite holed a wind-bent pitch at the 7th on his way to his first major.
The 7th is a short par 3; in a big wind players may take a shorter club and hit it low, or change their plan entirely, and that is what is worth watching in person.
In 2000 Tiger Woods won here by 15 strokes, still the record margin in a major; a player who joined his practice round said the tournament was over before it began.
The official weekly ticket runs Monday to Sunday, so you can watch the practice rounds too: players testing greens and wind before the four championship days.
