SXSW 2027
SXSW 2027 runs from 15 to 21 March in Austin. With the convention centre still being rebuilt, events spread through a pop-up Creative Village downtown: the Innovation tracks now run Monday to Friday, with Film & TV, Music and Comedy woven through, and a new Podcast Festival runs 17–20 March. The historic Paramount Theatre is under construction, so the big premieres move to ACL Live at The Moody Theater.
In 2022 SXSW opened with the world premiere of Everything Everywhere All at Once, which won the Oscar for Best Picture a year later.
That is the pleasure of SXSW: seeing, with a roomful of strangers, the work everyone will be talking about later.
For a week, bars and small venues across town fill with showcases, many by bands just breaking through.
If you only want music, one wristband gets you in; pick a few unfamiliar names and you are often surprised.
From 17 to 20 March, SXSW holds its first dedicated Podcast Festival: live recordings, with hosts, brands and platforms all in one place.
If you love podcasts, you can watch the voices in your headphones talk it out on stage.

Popular sessions can be reserved from 9 March, but reservations cover only part of each room; the rest is walk-up.
With the convention centre being rebuilt, events are spread across downtown, so moving between them means walking.
This is the first announced venue map, with more locations to come. Use street and venue names to orient yourself, then confirm the schedule for your event.
Main event: March 15–21. Core Innovation programme: March 15–19. Podcast Festival: March 17–20. Individual times await the final schedule.
America/ChicagoEvents span downtown venues. Official free shuttles serve badge holders; AFS Cinema is outside the shuttle network.
