Last Night of the Proms 2026
The September 12 finale pairs Barber’s Piano Concerto with Smetana’s Vltava and Holst’s Jupiter. Sakari Oramo leads the BBC Symphony Orchestra with Yuja Wang, tenor Nicky Spence and choirs.

The concerto won the 1963 Pulitzer Prize for Music. Make it your listening focus: sample a recording, then follow the exchanges between soloist and orchestra live. This is an orchestral concert, not a solo recital.
Classical & instrumentalSmetana’s tone poem follows the river from its source through Bohemia toward Prague as part of Má vlast, My Homeland. Follow small streams gathering into a broad melody, then compare it with the bright orchestral sound of Jupiter on the same programme.
Classical & instrumentalThe listed finale includes Pomp and Circumstance No. 1, Jerusalem and Auld Lang Syne. Choose it for the celebratory choral tradition as well as the soloist; the second half has a different character from a piano-focused concert.
