New Rules of Play: Art, Children, and Society
This exhibition looks at play through contemporary art: the experiment, improvisation and absorption that help us find our own agency and can challenge everyday rules. It brings together works that spark spontaneous play, immersive installations that unsettle perception, projects that question social norms and participatory works that imagine new ways of living together, from the 1950s to the present. Children are not just the audience but collaborators in making the show. Artists announced so far include Monster Chetwynd, Kondo Aki, Sasaoka Yuriko and Suh Do Ho, subject to change. It runs from 29 April to 23 September 2027; the museum then closes for renovation from 24 September, reopening around late April 2028. Prices and hours are not out yet.
