Go to Marrakech in winter for a week of world cinema.
Marrakech International Film Festival 2026
The 23rd Marrakech International Film Festival runs from 20 to 28 November, and its top prize is the Étoile d’Or. This year’s jury, opening film and tributes were not yet announced when checked on 27 September; last year Bong Joon-ho led the jury and the Étoile d’Or went to Promised Sky, about Ivorian women living in Tunisia. The festival also runs the Atlas Workshops for young Moroccan, Arab and African filmmakers.
Last year’s Étoile d’Or went to Erige Sehiri’s Promised Sky: Marie, an Ivorian pastor living in Tunisia, and the women who share her home.

More than 7,000 hand-carved jack-o’-lanterns fill an old manor: a pumpkin planetarium overhead, life-size dinosaurs and a turning carousel along the path.
Every haunted house is one you walk through yourself: a rag-and-bone man’s curse, a haunted TV studio, a ventriloquist’s dummy and a robot factory out of control.
