The Grand Van Gogh Exhibition, Part II: The Langlois Bridge at Arles (Kobe)
The Grand Van Gogh Exhibition brings the Kröller-Müller Museum’s Van Gogh collection to the Kobe City Museum in two parts; Part I, Café Terrace at Night, drew about 530,000 visitors. Part II centres on The Langlois Bridge at Arles (mid-March 1888), called a treasure of the Netherlands and rarely lent abroad; this is its first showing in Japan in about 70 years. The exhibition follows Van Gogh’s last years in Arles, Saint-Rémy and Auvers-sur-Oise, and also includes Country Road in Provence by Night, painted in May 1890.
