Frieze Los Angeles
Frieze Los Angeles 2027 runs from 25 to 28 February at Santa Monica Airport. The 2027 exhibitor list and public projects are still to be announced; the 2026 edition brought around a hundred galleries and public art to the airport park. The two works below are 2026 examples: one completed through the artist’s continuous walking, the other holding memories in ceramic vessels.
In 2026, in Untitled Orbit (MANUAL MODE), Amanda Ross-Ho pushed an inflatable globe about 16 feet across around the football field of the airport park, without stopping.
The turning of the Earth shrinks into one person’s lap after lap of labour; watch for a while and you feel the weight of time and effort.
Kohshin Finley’s The Piano Player set large stoneware vessels into a grid of shelves, holding private memories of growing up in Los Angeles.
There is no piano in it; what rewards looking is the relation between the surfaces, the volumes and the arrangement of the pots.
