Chloe Chua & Hannu Lintu – Jewel and Titan
This Singapore pre-tour concert moves from Wang Chenwei’s local sound world in The Sisters’ Islands to Chloe Chua’s Mendelssohn, then opens out into Mahler’s First under Hannu Lintu.
Wang Chenwei’s tone poem turns a local island legend into orchestral colour. It is the tour programme’s opening statement of a Singaporean voice, rather than a generic curtain-raiser.
Classical & instrumentalThe E minor Concerto brings the soloist in early and keeps her woven through the orchestra. Hear how Chua connects songfulness, speed and transitions into one continuous argument.
Classical & instrumentalMahler’s First travels from distant, awakening sounds through a distorted funeral march to a deliberately oversized finale. The hall lets its layers and dynamic scale occupy real space.

Chua’s violin and He’s viola are a well-matched pair.
He Ziyu does not appear in this concert; he joins the separate Mozart programme on 9 October. Photography, video and audio recording are prohibited during performance.
Listen across three scales: island landscape, soloist-orchestra dialogue, and the expansion of Mahler’s finale. Be seated 15 minutes early.
