9th Yokohama Triennale
Founded in 2001, the Yokohama Triennale is one of Japan’s leading recurring international exhibitions. The 9th edition runs for 124 days from 23 April to 12 September 2027, with the Yokohama Museum of Art as its main venue and other locations around the city. Its artistic directors are Romanian curator Cosmin Costinaș and Colombian curator Inti Guerrero, long-time collaborators who led the 24th Biennale of Sydney in 2024 to wide acclaim for celebrating joyful acts of collective resistance. This edition coincides with GREEN×EXPO 2027 in Yokohama; the theme and artists will be announced later. The previous edition in 2024, Wild Grass after Lu Xun, showed 93 artists and groups and drew about 580,000 visits.

Art exhibitionsYokohama opened its port in 1859 and is home to 130,000 residents from 169 countries; this edition sets out to connect that history with the city’s art spaces.
Art exhibitionsThe organisers want the Triennale to be the best beginner’s guide to contemporary art, with works that can be enjoyed intuitively.
