KYOTOGRAPHIE International Photography Festival 2027
KYOTOGRAPHIE is an international photography festival founded in Kyoto in 2013 by photographer Lucille Reyboz and lighting director Yusuke Nakanishi. Each spring it places exhibitions in the city’s traditional townhouses, galleries, museums and temples, often designed with local architects and artisans, alongside artist talks, portfolio reviews, masterclasses and children’s programmes. In 2026 it showed a Daido Moriyama retrospective at the Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art, Lebohang Kganye’s Rehearsal of Memory in Higashi Honganji’s O-genkan and Thandiwe Muriu’s Camo at Kondaya Genbei Chikuin-no-Ma. The 2027 edition is scheduled for 17 April to 16 May; the theme, artists and venues will be announced later.
