The Mosquito moves again
This 1945 Mosquito will never fly again, but in 2027 it taxis in public, and on Friday night its engines run after dark, exhaust flames and all.

Classic Fighters Omaka 2027
Classic Fighters is Marlborough’s classic warbird airshow, held at Omaka Aerodrome in Blenheim over Easter weekend, Friday 26 to Sunday 28 March 2027; money raised goes to the Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre. The 2027 theme, “Put on the Ritz”, brings aircraft from the 1920s and 1930s Golden Age of Aviation, alongside aerobatics, Second World War warbirds, classic cars and fireworks. Three highlights stand out: the 1945 Mosquito will never fly again but will taxi in public, with an engine run on Friday night; the restored RNZAF Mustang NZ2423 returns to fly over Marlborough; and two Bristol F.2B Fighters fly together. Friday is the practice day, with the Twilight Extreme sunset flying and fireworks in the evening; Saturday and Sunday are the main show days.
