Art Basel Hong Kong
Art Basel Hong Kong 2027 runs from 25 to 27 March at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, bringing together leading galleries from Asia and beyond. The Hong Kong pages also list Zero 10, Art Basel’s digital art initiative (code, algorithms, robotics, light and sound). The 2027 exhibitors and tickets were not yet published when checked on 2 October; the works below are 2026 examples.
City Lantern (2025) assembles city photographs into a great lantern, answering the demolition, rebuilding and migration of Asian cities.
From afar it is a lamp; up close it is street after street, and you can look for somewhere that resembles a place you have lived.
Potatoes Grow on Trees (2025–2026) hangs potatoes where they should not be, turning the most ordinary food into something that stops you.
Seen beside Victor’s city lantern, one starting from soil and one from the city, both make you notice the ground underfoot again.
