Adelaide Fringe 2027
Now 66 years old, Adelaide Fringe is Australia’s biggest arts festival and calls itself the biggest in the Southern Hemisphere. It is open access: the Fringe does not select shows or run venues, and anyone with a show or a space can register, so pubs, rooftops, community halls and galleries all become stages. In 2026, 562 venues registered and more than 8,000 artists performed across more than 500 venues in South Australia. The 2027 Fringe runs from 19 February to 21 March; the full programme is still to come, but eight shows are already on sale, including Australian comedian Denise Scott’s first solo show in more than a decade, First Nations actor Ernie Dingo telling stories from his life in TV and film, and new comedy from Jimeoin.
